Building the Perfect Team

Okay, so you wanna leverage learning now, and you want to make up your investment group.

You're bound to attract a large gamut of people. From dabblers, to drivens, to the people in between.

Ultimately, at the end of every meeting, ask yourself, and the group, who contributed the most to the meeting? Also, if you had to rate everyone in the group as either a positive energy giver, or a negative energy sucker - meaning someone who contributed, or someone who anti-contributed, what would you rate everyone?

You want a group of momentum-increasing, positive-energy-giving, passionate dynamos whose purpose aligns with your own. People you don't drag to meetings - people who arrive with materials they're itching to demonstrate or questions they've been dying to ask.

Make a team based on character, emotion, passion, and drive. Knowledge comes from those traits. You could have the smartest person in the world on your team, but if they use their talents for negativity, all those talents work in the opposite direction.

If you are a leader, or a member of a group, you may want to start keeping track of simple -1, 0, +1 ratings of people at the end of each meeting.

In the beginning, people's ratings will fluctuate wildly. -1 because they're scared or defensive of their former lives. 0, because they're insecure about their knowledge or life experience, and +1 because of that initial spike of passion.

After about a month, check in with your ratings, and start making judgement calls. Ultimately, the investment group is an entity all on its own. Its up to each one of its members (and especially its leader) to keep that entity not only alive, but flourishing.

Information Leveraging

Information leveraging is something I've become increasingly passionate about these last few months.

The basic concept is that you as one person can only learn so much, and to solve this, you surround yourself with people of like-purpose, but not like-mind.

Meaning, you have a teammate who is passionate, driven, wants to make the world a better place, and knows a lot about cars, or tofu, or shoes, or tin foil or whatever! Just something that is different than what YOU know a lot about.

Also, even if people DO share the same interests/passions as you, whose to say that there aren't multiple facets within that same passion?

Take martial arts, for example. Within that broad spectrum are literally thousands of minute distinctions. In fact, there are two main categories right away, hard styles and soft styles.

So, using this analogy, you could have one partner study everything there was about hard styles, one partner study everything there was about soft styles, and a third partner study the best ways of combining the knowledge in complementary ways.

The same is true for anything, including business, and information.

Take the huge concept of passive income. That has a feeeeeeew tiers, yes? So, grab a group of people together who are passionate about passive income, and leverage their talents for the common good!

Create or join an investment group with a common purpose (the one I created has a fairly simple slogan "To get rich making the world a better place") and get people summarizing books, seeing angles of attack unbenownst to others due to the informational compacting that undoubtedly occurs when people are all applying themselves passionately.

How to profit by creating competition

Okay, so, you've wracked your brain trying to come up with ways to duplicate your art, and serve huge groups of people instead of one-on-one... but you just can't.

Ultimately, it comes down to a rare skill or quality only you posses.

You love what you do, yes?

You want to keep doing it, but maybe it doesn't make you the lifestyle you want, yes?

Rare = valuable.

Think about it. ONLY YOU can do this amazing skill that you love to do. You have virtually no competition as a result of this amazing awesomeness that you are the sole owner of.

Rare = valuable.

What people would want this skill of yours? How could you get their information, and how much would they pay for this info?

Worried about creating competition? Worried about being less unique? Sure, its a concern. But do a projection, just for fun.

They say that, on average, 2% of the population buys books for the purposes of self improvement.

They say that, of that 2%, 90% never read the book, or watch the video.

So now we're down to 0.002.

Of that, they say that only 1% actually applies that which they've learned, and makes it through the entire series (oh yes, you'll have a series of books. You can't master this unique skill in a single book!)

So, if we take this number (0.00002) and multiply it by, oh let's say... 100,000 books @ 19.99 each, you'll have amassed a total of 2 competitors who rival you in skill, and a fortune of about two million bucks.

Assuming you write some more books for these two ambitious people on the subject of getting discovered as artists, and, they, being the tenacious buggers that they are, make it through and apply that knowledge as well, you'll have amassed quite the fortune, and acquired 2 people with which you can create a healthy rivalry; or, better, simply partner up with them and promote each other through affiliate income.

Its a big world. And there is plenty for everyone.

A simple ebook (see tomorrow's article) has the potential to launch your income into the stratosphere.

And, with all that spare change kickin' around... feel free to still make your passionate one-off sculptures/paintings/dance lessons. After all, its what you love to do, its your passion.

Now, you're simply rich from it.

Making money in art

For many artists, the premise of passive income is a daunting one. "But, will I not need to create, in order to sell my (sculpture, painting, dance lessons etc)?"

The answer, is actually no, if you're not selfish.

"Huh!? How is me helping the world through my art selfish?" Excellent question. Thank you for being open minded enough to ask.

The truth of the matter is, if you're helping people one-on-one with your art, its so you can see the look in their eyes when you present your art. Otherwise, you'd be looking to help the world with it via duplication and mass exposure.

Not offended yet? Awesome, read on.

Let's get to the root of what it is you do. From sculpture, to painting etc. Why do you do it? Sure, you like to bend the steel, or craft the canvas - but why?

Now, ask yourself how you could accomplish this same thing... but a million times a day?

THAT is the million dollar question. Let's take martial arts for example. I run and own Shinka Martial Arts. Its won all kinds of awards and whatnot as the best school, and its a huge martial arts school, and awesome etc. That's my passion, its what I love to do.

But, what is it I love doing, exactly? Well, I love making the world a better place through empowering my students through a viable medium in regards to self confidence, self discipline, and self actualization.

Alright, so if we quantify those things as items, could the same thing be accomplished through a well put together book, DVD series, blog writing, and a franchise of a 1000 or so dojos scattered throughout the land?

Yeah. And my impact would be greater on this planet. And believe me, I do have some long term plans for this place that're going to rock people's worlds.

The point is, you can take any art - (of which many services fall under) and turn it into a duplicatable medium.

AND IF IT CAN'T... read on!
